Couples often choose long banquet-style tables for a relaxed, communal feel, round tables for a more classic layout, or a mix of both depending on guest numbers and catering style. This flexibility makes it easy to design a dining experience that actually suits how you want the evening to feel, whether that’s informal and social or more structured and timeless.

The Outhouse – This space is typically used for the ceremony. Full of charm and character, this space has a real sense of history without feeling stuffy. Exposed red brick walls, a striking original timber roof, and peaceful views out to the private gardens give it a warm, inviting feel that’s both impressive and easy to settle into. Couples often add fairy lights to this space to give it a magical feel.

The Work Shop – This space is typically used for the drinks reception. With loads of natural light pouring through the sash windows, The Workshop is a dream to photograph. This is one of my favourite spaces for sure!

The Garden – You wouldn’t expect it, but hidden within The Engine Works is a private garden that feels calm and tucked away from it all. Sitting between the canal and the Engine Room entrance, it’s a space guests can dip in and out of all day, with seating, shelter, and heating to keep things comfortable. This space is typically used for any large group shots, confetti and family pictures if the weather is nice.

The Canal – One of the unusual features of The Engine Works is the canal that runs just behind the venue. Stepping out here gives you a completely different feel to the industrial interiors softer, calmer, and more open. It’s the perfect spot to capture portraits that feel a little more relaxed and romantic, offering an alternative look that adds real variety to your gallery without needing to travel anywhere else. Its not as yucky as it sounds I promise!!!
